Why choose us?
The University of Bordeaux’s Redesigning Equality and Scientific Excellence Together (RESET) team has been coordinating the project for more than 3 years. The issue of scientific excellence is central to this project, and is analysed across several aspects and domains. The team has carried out an extensive literature review, data collection and qualitative interviews with stakeholders on scientific excellence and its links with diversity and equality. It also played a leading role in the drafting of a joint statement by senior managers of RESET institutions on their commitment to equality and diversity in scientific excellence.
One of the work packages led by the University of Bordeaux team focuses on cultural change and institutional culture, which have a major impact on the definition of scientific excellence (institutional documents, combating violence and discrimination, engaging laboratories as drivers of change, adopting inclusive communication recommendations, valuing women's contribution to science and research).
The organisation of co-design sessions, discussion groups and workgroups has enabled the team to acquire a wealth of knowledge on the subject and its related challenges. Marion Paoletti, professor of political science and scientific coordinator of the RESET project, will be one of the moderators. Prof. Paoletti is an expert in political science and gender studies.
